I’m thinking of changing funds as I think the fees are too high and returns aren’t good enough.

Been with them 14 years. Their life cycle underperform now, but prior I could select specific funds and monitored performance monthly and quarterly. Paid way too much for insurance so stopped it all. AMP gave misleading advice and were fined heavily for charging customers(as well as dead ones) for advice they never got. Am going to change soon as going into a Pension fund as just reached preservation age.

The most powerful way for ordinary people to change the world in an ethical way- besides your house ( which no one can afford today ) your super is the largest amount of money you will have-what you do with it can have a good or bad effect. Auastralin Ethical has been around since 1986 and outperforms ( or at least equals all the big funds

Ok so far but their website is not so good nor user friendly in my view. It should be better given its size and 2.4 million members.

Might be ok when you are giving them money, but when it comes time for them to pay it’s take’s them forever 3 months and still waiting to receive our mothers super named as a beneficiary and in executor of her will seems like care super don’t care at all when people are really in need with financial demands of funeral care just have to follow the process and don’t communicate I would suggest anyone that deal with care pull your super out before you become unwell so your family don’t have to go though this.

Satisfied with the performance of an income stream so far (2023 being the 4th year). Obviously the COVID experiment took the shine off the previously healthy yearly increases, can’t blame Cbus for that though. ** Knocked off one star because for decades they were deducting life insurance premiums, which I never would have knowingly signed for as I’ve never had any dependents (my guess is the option was surreptitiously slipped into my application all those years ago)

I was super glad to receive my first pension payment today. All my contributions has been calculated and paid to my bank account three days before Xmas Eve 2023. A BIG THANK YOU to Frank Sanchez for your help. I will always remember you bring the good news to my pensioner life. All the best to you and the team.

Solid returns and low fees. Customer Service has been very good as well. Only criticism is that is that the platform could be a better digital experience. For example it would be great if you could change your investment allocation online rather than having to print out forms, fill them in and then send them off

I like that they do not automatically start taking out money for insurance (something that many people, especially young people do not realise is happening with other funds) The online info could be clearer but they are continually trying to improve this

I asked for their bench mark comparison and their answer was they are not required by APRA to give their customers that info. whilst other funds are. I believe the board is asleep at the wheel and I have asked my local MP to investigate their lack of transparency given their poor performance.

While l am reasonably happy with the performance of MY money, l think that hesta should take a cut in fees when the fund underperforms. Also l recently tried to withdraw some of MY money and was refused due to some technical doublespeak about 2 letters in my name being different. Despite sending all relevant paperwork and information as instructed. Hesta seem to think MY money is THEIR money. Like all these institutions, they are very good at taking money, but very inefficient when it comes to paying out. POORLY MANAGED!!

They don’t reply to emails in a timely manner, but when they finally do it after weeks, it looks like they didn’t even bother to check previous emails I sent them to give me answers to my questions, which is extremely frustrating. Then I have to answer by explaining everything all over again, a second or third time, only to get another email with another contradictory information after a week, and this has been going on and on for over three months. I called customer support and contacted them via live chat, but they both gave me completely different answers, which frustrated me even more. After reading so many negative opinions and various scenarios of events of people who also cannot get their money, I have a strong feeling that they are deliberately prolonging this process because they simply do not want to pay anyone money. I wrote a complaint to their Resolutions department 24 days ago and I didn’t even get a confirmation email that they had received my complaint and are working on it, or anything on their part. It is almost unbelievable to me how you can ignore your clients in this way. My frustration with customer service is beyond anything I could have imagined.

Service is reasonable, but given they’re underwritten by the federal government that should be a given. Performance is less than impressive when considering their fee structure and insurance premiums. Some credit has to be given to their insurance policy content though compared to the private market, however this is too little too late. Would be nice to see some real transparency in investment decision making and details of why they continue with some investments, and how they have been unable to take advantage of progressive investment options that have delivered other funds good returns. Could be the typical government of being adverse to risk unless multiple committees have approved a decision. Nobody wants overly high levels of risk, but we do expect a fund of his supposed calibre to be able to identify and exploit investment opportunities and not maintain lazy investment strategies with the idea that members are simply comfortable and secure with average expectations. Do I need to remind you that more and more members are considering (and electing) to go down the SMSF pathway.

My balance is getting nowhere at present and has been averaging around the same total for a long time after going up gradually which always looked promising then suddenly dropping by a substantial amount back to what it was much earlier . I am disappointed in it’s performance.

Performance returns are well below industry average for the Balanced Option and have been for a number of years. May be due to Qsuper moving to a defensive position about 8 years ago.. Check other funds before investing

I sustained a serious injury and throughout the process, Sprit was extremely helpful and professional. At the same time receiving good results on my super in a turbulent market. I think everyone needs to do there own research, however I’m very satisfied with the returns sprit has achieved.

I always had a good experience, specially with the advice service. Yes sometimes it takes them time to get back to me but 8/10 times they are efficient and provide very correct information to help me make a right decision for my self. I would recommend them to my friends and family and glad they are open to all now.

Why Customer Reviews Matter For Choosing a Super Fund

Customer reviews offer real insights into the experiences of super fund members. By reading first-hand accounts of customer service, opinions on fees, performance, insurance, and transparency, you can better gauge which fund aligns with your goals and service expectations.

Spotting Common Concerns in Reviews

When reading super fund reviews, look for recurring themes. While some negative reviews might stem from isolated incidents, patterns in feedback often highlight genuine concerns. If these issues such as a lack of customer support or high fees are important to you, bear this in mind when considering this fund as an option for your retirement savings.

The Limitations of Relying Solely on Customer Reviews

While customer reviews provide valuable insights, it’s important to remember that they often reflect extreme experiences either very positive or very negative. Many people are more inclined to leave reviews after a poor experience, which may not represent the typical member’s experience. When choosing a super fund, consider both customer feedback and objective factors like fund performance, fees, and insurance ratings to make a well-rounded decision. You can compare super funds by these metrics on Review My Super.

Balancing reviews with a broader assessment of each fund’s track record is a better approach when determining which fund is right for you.
